Hansen Muir (Muir Stone) has worked for us twice. The first time he repointed our rubble garden walls and a small brick wall. He came when he said he would come, charged what he said he would charge and he did a good job using lime mortar rather than cement. He was pleasant to have working at our home and took a lot of trouble to make sure that we were happy with his work. He was also flexible when we added extra work into the contract and did not overcharge for the additional work.

Therefore when we needed someone to repoint a part of our sandstone house we had no hesitation in contacting Hansen. He came as soon as the temperature allowed and was easy to work with as before.

Hansen Muir repointed and repaired the stonework of my old (c.1840) cottage. There was considerable weathering and it had been very roughly done with cement some 40-50 years ago. When this was removed quite a number of crumbling stones were revealed. These were removed and skilfully replaced with sound old or appropriate stones shaped to fit which have blended in perfectly with the originals. I have been very pleased with the result.

The work was done on time and within budget. Mr Muir and his team were unfailingly courteous and considerate.
